  • The age the spirit is when bottled; most often used when referring to whisk(e)y from bourbon to single malts; seen also in rum and other aged spirits.

  • Set aside product that cannot meet the high demand due to limited quantities.

    This one can hit a lot of buttons due to limited availability and supplier or distributors seeking to see if their full or portfolios are supported; while asking for a buy-to-get is mostly illegal in most states, if there is a limited product with outweighed demand it is at the discretion of the distributor in compliance with state laws to determine how accounts get that product to sell to the consumers.

  • There are many depending on the country.

    Since this is a US : Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon.

  • Making cocktails in advance of service or event, usually in large quantities.

  • Distributor sales term where they bill during the specific sales period but will deliver it when the customer aka account is ready to receive the delivery.

  • A Supplier/Distributor sales term regarding a legally agreed upon sales deal where the supplier is charged for the discount post-sale to buyers.

  • Term used in most industries - a person who reviews data in regard to business standing and performance.

    Usually, a wine reference derives from the storage area of a wine cellar; in retail can refer to the deals or cases of available wine.

  • Usually Wine Reference - from a 20th century origin regarding a holistic approach to agriculture and consumption. For more specifics go to biodynamic.com; tl;dr wine that has a cycle derived from a low-intervention method of farming with a whole lot of specifics like harvesting by the moon cycle .

  • When a customer aka account does not pay their bill to distributor, they will be listed 'blacklisted' and no longer able to recieve product on credit; cod only.

  • When a sales team covers a market with a singular brand/supplier focus.

    For example, a wine brand sends in a team of people to pair up with the distributor reps to blanket a city for 1-2 days only selling that wine.

  • Also known as Sunday Laws, these are restrictions on activities (often on Sundays). For alcohol sales, that usually means limited liquor store hours, closures, or no serving alcohol at on premise during certain times/hours.
